This is no small feat considering the humble beginnings of the online experience. Celebrations are in order for another reason, as well - Final Fantasy XIV's success secured its place as the most profitable game in series history. Speaking to IGN during a FFXIV: Endwalker preview event, Naoki Yoshida divulged that Square Enix's hit MMORPG has reached a new milestone with 24 million registered players. Though Final Fantasy developers remain hard at work on FFXVI, the new title isn't distracting from ongoing FFXIV updates, according to franchise producer Naoki Yoshida. The increasingly popular Final Fantasy XIV now counts as the most profitable Final Fantasy game in history, as it exceeds an impressive 24 million players. ![]()
